Jill Watson

Jill Watson is the executive director of Centrus Health of Kansas City, a clinically integrated network in Kansas City. Centrus Health Kansas City is comprised of three health systems and their employed physicians and more than 30 independent physician practices. Together there are more than 1,650 physicians in Centrus Health KC, representing roughly 26% of the Kansas City health care market. Centrus Health participants are aligned around the goal of providing high quality care at lower cost. Centrus is poised to bring better health outcomes to Kansas City by leveraging physician leadership, data and best practices across health systems.

Before Centrus Health, Jill was chief executive officer of the Kansas City Metropolitan Physician Association, LLC, a large association for independent physicians in the Kansas City area that blazed the trail of payment transformation from volume to value. KCMPA formed Kansas City’s first Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO in 2013. KCMPA built an infrastructure to support population health management with care management, clinical pharmacists, certified diabetes education, clinical data exchange and aggregation, data analytics and quality improvement. KCMPA-ACO saved $8.4 million in Medicare expenses in 2016.

Jill’s experience is in health care policy, understanding best practices in medical care, and identifying barriers that keep physicians from achieving them. Prior to KCMPA, Jill was executive director of the Metropolitan Medical Society of Greater Kansas City, a large multi-specialty professional association for physicians in the Kansas City area. Jill began her career in Washington, DC in public policy for the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, and the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists.

Jill earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Hofstra University in New York and an Executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a Kansas City native, a wife, and mother of three children.
